Bollywood legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah over party's phenomenal victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand polls.
Both the states witnessed a saffron wave as BJP won the polls with majority after the election result were declared on Saturday.
Lata took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to send her special wishes to PM Modi over his 'shandaar jeet'.
She wrote, "Namaskar.Aadarniya Narendra Modi ji , Amit Shah ji aur BJP ke sabhi karyakartao'n ko is shaandaar jeet ki bahut badhaai. (A big congratulations on their great victory to respected Narendra Modi ji, Amit Shah ji and all BJP workers.)"

PM Modi was indeed overwhelmed by Mangeshkar's kind gesture and thanked her for special wishes.
He tweeted, "Lata Didi, thank you very much for the wishes. As always, your wishes are very special."

Interestingly, Modi's party returns to power in Uttar Pradesh after a 14-year gap during which regional parties such as the SP and BSP had held sway.
BJP has won 325 seats in Uttar Pradesh while it took over 57 seats in Uttarakhand.
Party leaders attributed the success to Modi, who along with BJP president Amit Shah had also marshalled the cadres for a landslide victory in the 2014 parliamentary elections.
