Lata Mangeshkar watched Ayushmann Khurrana's critically acclaimed film Andhadhun on Saturday and couldn’t stop herself from praising the actor for his mind-boggling performance in the film, for which he even won the National Award for the Best Actor. The veteran singer took to Twitter and wrote: ''@ayushmannkji namaskar. Maine aap ki film Andhadhun aaj dekhi. Aapne bahut accha kaam kiya hai aur jo gaane aapne gaaye hain wo bhi mujhe bahut acche lage.Main aapko bahut badhaai deti hun aur aapko bhavishya mein aur yash mile aisi mangal kaamana karti hun (I saw your film Andhadhun today. You have acted well and songs sung by you were good too. I wish to congratulate you and wish for your success in future we well.)''

Ayushmann replied with a humble note, and wrote, "Lata di aapka yeh kehna mere liye bahut maayne rakhta hai. Aapke is protsaahan ke liye hee shayad maine mehnat ki thi. Aashirwaad ke liye shukriya (sic). (Lata di, these words coming from you matter a lot to me. Probably I worked so hard for your encouraging words.Thanks for the blessings.)"

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhdhun was a crime thriller, featuring Ayushmann as a blind pianist. The film also starred Tabu, who plays his arch rival and Radhika Apte. In a surprise appearance, Varun Dhawan’s uncle Anil Dhawan plays a small role in the film. One of the film’s songs, Aap Se Milkar, was sung by Ayushmann, in its reprise version.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann's latest release Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is doing exceptionally well at the box office. In the film, Ayushmann is seen playing the role of a gay for the first time opposite Jitendra Kumar. It earned Rs 9.55 crore on opening day. On its second day, the film earned Rs 11.08 crores. Currently, its total earnings stand at Rs 46.92 crores. The film also features Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Manurishi Chaddha, Sunita Rajwar, Maanvi Gagroo, Pankhuri Awasthy and Neeraj Singh in pivotal roles.
As per recent reports, Ayushmann will next be seen essaying the role of a gynaecologist in his next project titled, Stree Rog Vibhag. The reports further state the actor will star opposite Alaya F in the film. The movie will be reportedly directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Anurag Kashyap's sister.
