Alankrita Shrivastava's latest release 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' which is happened to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year, has hit the screens with a much slow opening on Friday. After a disappointing collection of Rs 1.22 cr on the first day of its release, the Konkona Sen Sharma starrer has witnessed an outstanding growth of 80% on the second day collecting a total of Rs. 2.17 crore on Saturday. The movie mints a fare amount of Rs 5.80 crore within three days and further stays strong at box office on the 4th day of its release.
The movie which talks about women empowerment in the patriarchal society, has got rave reviews from the critics. 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' which was touted to be 'too lady-oriented' had its share of controversies which included a stay on its release too.
However, after a prolonged battle with CBFC, the movie has come up with a fresh new plot which is driving a large number of people towards theatres all over the country.
Though 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' failed to fetch in the expected box office numbers on the first day of its release, the non-commercial movie has been immensely praised by the audience which is a bit rare for such a genre of the movie.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the box office figures Monday afternoon and wrote "#LipstickUnderMyBurkha Fri 1.22 cr, Sat 2.17 cr, Sun 2.41 cr. Total: ₹ 5.80 cr <400 screens>. India biz.” Earlier, the analyst has also shared the first and second day collection of the movie.

On the other hand, Tiger Shroff starrer 'Munna Michael' which is expected to mint around a favourable amount in theatres all over India, has disappointed the hearts of million in terms of collection at the box office. The movie, also starring Nidhi Agerwal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the key roles, revolves around the life of a street dancer and has amassed an average amount of Rs 21.67 crore so far.

Sharing the weekend collection of the movie Taran Adarsh has posted yet another tweet on Monday and wrote, "#MunnaMichael Fri 6.65 cr, Sat 6.32 cr, Sun 8.70 cr. Total: ₹ 21.67 cr <3000 screens>. India biz."

While 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', made at an estimated budget of Rs 6 crore, is doing wonders at box office, the Rs 45 crore budget movie 'Munna Michael' is not performing as well as expected.

Also starring Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur, and Vikrant Massey 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' is further expected to receive love and acceptance all over India.
