Love Aaj Kal trailer, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, is out and the movies just like its predecessor is another comparative analysis of love and relationship in 90 and the modern day. The movie also keeps intact the elements that were there in the 2009 movie be it career or long distance or societal resistance.
The present day couple Sara as Zoe is obsessed with her career, and Kartik, who wants all of her and won’t compromise in a relationship. On the other, there is Kartik and debutante Arushi Sharma as school kids, who are in love but are unable to figure it out amid the pressure of the societal norms.
The trailer starts with Sara at Zoe giving an earful to Veer for rejecting her and the later explaining she is too special for her to do anything, the trailer then goes back to the 1990s where Kartik is being scolded for stalking his schoolmate. The trailer next moves on Sara who is struggling to make work-life balance and keeps her career as a priority. Kartik however wants her as a whole without any compromises.

As of now, the film is quite reminiscent of the original 2009 film. The timelines, the music, the setting – everything feels like we have seen it before. Since Saif was a part of the original, it would be a nice surprise if he has a cameo in the film.
Love Aaj Kal has been produced by Dinesh Vijan and Imtiaz Ali. Ali joins hands with music composer Pritam again. The two have earlier collaborated on films like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Love Aaj Kaal also starts Randeep Hooda. The film has been extensively shot in Himachal Pradesh and is slated to release on 14th February this year.
The makers had shared the first poster of the film on Thursday. Sharing the poster on her Instagram, Sara wrote: “Meet Veer and Zoe Come get wound up in our whirlwind wonderland #LoveAajKal.” Sara can be seen lying on Kartik’s back and holding hands with him on the poster. While Sara is awake and looks lost in thought while Kartik seems to be sleeping. The poster shows two different timelines -- 2020 and 1990.
