Kangana Ranaut as and in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is basking in critical accolade and appreciation from the fans. The ambitious period drama opened to great reviews and has impressed the audience, with Kangana getting widespread acclamation for her performance. The film opened at Rs 8.75 crore and went on to collect Rs 15.70 crore on Sunday, taking the total collections to Rs 42.55 crore on day three.
Manikarnika was released on January 25 across an estimated 3,000 screens. Buoyed by its patriotic theme, the movie has garnered reported Rs 13 crore on Monday, bringing its total collection to Rs 55 crore approximately.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh rolled out his report on Manikarnika's business. He Tweeted: "#Manikarnika is decent on crucial Mon. Decline on Day 4 [vis-à -vis Day 1]: 41.71%... Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is also the debut of Ankita Lokhande, who was seen playing Jhalkaribai. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi released alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Thackeray. It is also facing cut-throat competition from the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike that hit the screens on January 11.
The film showcases the journey of Rani Laxmi Bai from a widow to a warrior. Co-directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana, the film also features Danny Denzongpa, Atul Kulkarni, Mishti and Jisshu Sengupta in prominent roles.
