This week, two Bollywood movies will hit the theatres, one is Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and other one is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray. It’s a wonderful week for all the movie bugs out there as they have an option of watching movies which are based on powerful and popular personalities including Rani Laxmibai and Balasaheb Thackeray. So, here we bring to you a short preview of what should we expect from these two flicks and which movie should be picked for watching.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi - One of the most controversial films of the year, Manikarnika, a period drama is based on the life and struggles of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The film will release in over 50 countries in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. With only a few days to go before the film release, the makers are putting in every effort to bring the best while maintaining the hype steady going.

As the movie is helmed by a popular Telugu filmmaker Krish, it is expected that movie will also churn out big in the Southern part of the country.

Another major fact about the film which may prove to be major factor for its success is that it is written by Vijayendra Prasad, who has scripted films including Baahubali and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and is also father of S S Rajamouli.

Thackeray - While the trailer of Thackeray saw the multi-farious Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his powerful portrayal as the political leader and Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, the much-awaited biopic is all set to hit the theatres this week. The film will also star Vivah fame actress Amrita Rao who will portray the role of Meenatai Thackeray (wife of Balasaheb Thackeray). Thackeray is slated for a worldwide release on January 25, 2019.
