Manushi Chillar has finally ended India's dry spell of 17 years, after she won the coveted Miss World 2017 title on Tuesday. The 21-year-old from Haryana, who is a medical student, edged out top five contestants from England, France, Kenya and Mexico at the event, which saw participation from 118 countries.
And while the beauty queen has been inundated with best wishes from people across the world, the best wish has come from Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka was the last Indian to wear the Miss World crown in 2000. So when Manushi became the sixth Indian to win the coveted crown after Priyanka, the Quantico actress came up with a really special advice for her successor.
PeeCee took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to congratulate Manushi and advised her to enjoy this new journey. She wrote, "And we have a successor!Congratulations @ManushiChhillar on becoming #MissWorld2017.. cherish and learn, and most importantly enjoy it.Bravo"

Chhillar was presented the crown by Stephanie Del Valle, the last years Miss World winner from Puerto Rico at an event held at a resort in the coastal city of Sanya.
The first and the second runners-up were Miss England Stephanie Hill and Miss Mexico Andrea Meza at the event. Manushi's win brings India at level with Venezuela as the countries with most victories in the history of the pageant.
