In the 100 years of Indian Cinema, Bollywood has seen several legendary artists who have made phenomenal contributions in the industry. One such legend has been highly acclaimed singer Mukesh, who was known for his melodious voice that would hit the right chords of the audience.
Born on 22 July 1923, Mukesh stepped into the industry with 1941 release 'Nirdosh'. He sang around 1300 songs in his career of over three decades and always followed the concept of quality over quantity.
The National Award winning singer had created his own style of singing and was quite popular for lending his voice to Raj Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Feroz Khan and Sunil Dutt.
In fact, Mukesh shared an exceptional camaraderie with Raj Kapoor. The 'Shree 420' actor was so shattered at the singer's death that he said - "I have lost my voice".
Mukesh has collaborated with several music composers including Shankar-Jaikishan, Anil Biswas, Salil Choudhary, etc.
