Nana Patekar breaks silence on Tanushree Dutta's claim of sexual harassment

Nana Patekar, recently faced a flack of controversies for allegedly sexually harassing and intimidating Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta on the sets of Horn Ok Please. The actor has broken the silence and responded to the allegations targeted to him. Nana has denied of any such misbehaviour as claimed by Tanushree.

In an interview with a leading news channel, Nana retorted that there were hundreds of people present on the sets which made it impossible for someone to sexually harass a woman and get away with it. He even questioned the actor as to what she means by sexual harassment.

Tanushree had remarked that the National Award-winning actor had a different face altogether, to which Nana responded by saying that it does not matter to him what anyone thinks of him. He will continue to do in his life what he has been doing.

Tanushree had alleged in a recent interview that Nana Patekar, a Padma Shri, and National Award-winning actor, had behaved inappropriately towards her during the shooting of a song for 2008’s Horn OK Pleassss. “Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about his background... that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it,” she had to a leading television channel.

Nana, who was silent on this issue for a while, revealed that he is planning to deal with the matter legally.

A string of controversies in Bollywood has surfaced with the beginning of the #MeToo movement. It was started when allegations of sexual harassment and rape were pressed against Hollywood star Harvey Weinstein. Indian actors such as Radhika Apte, Richa Chadda, Swara Bhasker, and Konkona SenSharma have talked about it, without revealing names.
