Veteran actors Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah engaged into war of words after Mr Kher questioned the latter's campaign for displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Naseeruddin Shah took a pot shot at Anupam Kher and posted a question over his campaign saying he was neither born in Kashmir nor does he live there.
"A person who has never lived in Kashmir has started a fight for Kashmiri Pandits. Suddenly, he became a displaced person," Shah said.
Anupam Kher didn’t came out silent on it, instead raised another question over the logic behind such statement. He said by that logic NRIs should not think about India. "Shah Saab ki Jai Ho. By that logic NRIs should not think about India at all," Kher tweeted.
Anupam Kher also claimed that his roots are from the valley and he doesn’t need to prove this to anyone.
"I have great regard for Naseerudin Shah. I don't think the comment was made by him but seems it was attributed to him by someone. My roots are in Kashmir. I don't want to prove my credential of being a Kashmiri Brahmin. It's a very insensitive statement, I don't think such a statement befits from a person like him," he said.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also took Kher's side and targeted Shah. "Shah also did not live in Gujarat. Then why did he raise the voice against Gujarat riots?"
