Late actress Sridevi will be awarded with the coveted Nation Award at the 65th National Award ceremony on Thursday. The award will be received by the diva's husband Boney Kapoor who will be accompanied by daughter Janhvi and Khushi.
This happens to be Sridevi's first National Award and she has won it for her performance in the movie MOM which turned out be the actress' last movie.
It's indeed an overwhelming moment for the Kapoor family.
Talking about the same, Boney said, "It's a very proud moment for all of us and at the same time a sad moment. We wish she was here with us. She truly deserved it. She has been around for 50 years and did about 300 films. She has always given her best for all her films and finally, unfortunately, after she has left that she has been awarded with this honour. In any case, I am grateful to the Government of India, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the jury ofcourse. It is a very proud moment for all of us but sadly she is not around to revel in this proud moment."
He further added, "As long as entertainment industry exists, Sridevi will continue to entertain everyone," he added.
Sridevi breather her last on February 24 in Dubai where she had gone to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah.
Apart from Sridevi, late actor Vinod Khanna has also been conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award posthumously. The award will be received by his son Akshaye Khanna.
