New Update
The 66th National Film Awards for the year 2018 were announced today and films like Uri, Padmaavat, Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun emerged as winners for their outstanding performance. Also, Bollywood stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal won the National Film Award for best actor for their roles in Andhadhun and Uri, respectively.
Kangana Ranaut, a recipient of 3 National Awards (Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Fashion and Queen) in an interaction with ET Times said that she is happy that 'Andhadhun' got its due as it was snubbed at every other award show.
"The beauty of National awards is that it brings the whole nation’s artists together, you get to know about so many artists and films you missed because of language and lack of information, I am so happy 'Andhadhun' got its due as it was snubbed by all popular awards, I was hoping Aditya Dharr gets all the awards next year he is terrific but he started pretty soon, which is wonderful. I am thrilled with the list of winners,'' she said.
Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel too echoed the same thoughts on Twitter. She went on to take a jibe at Karan Johar and 'paan elaichi' award shows. Rangoli wrote, ''Meanwhile films that were celebrated at paan elaichi gutka award have been totally snubbed at the National awards, good to see genuine talent getting recognition, mimicry artists glorifying terrorists & Papa Jo’s babies doing below average work have been snubbed ðŸ‘ÂÂÂðŸ‘ÂÂÂðŸ‘ÂÂÂðŸ‘ÂÂÂvery good.''

For those unaware, Kangana impressed the audience with her outstanding performance in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. However, the film wasn’t eligible for the National Film Awards 2019 as it didn’t make it to the cut off date for censor certificate which was December 2018.
Meanwhile, Kangana will be next seen in Dhaakad. The action-entertainer will see Kangana as a warrior performing high octane stunts for the secound time after her film Manikarnika made much impact on the box office.
