The 66th edition of National Film Awards was held in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar presented the National Film Awards to the winners. As per reports in PTI, Ram Nath Kovind will be hosting a high tea for the winners post the event.
The winners were announced in August this year with Gujarati film Hellaro bagging the Best Film honour. Vicky Kaushal and Ayushmann Khuranna jointly won the Best Actor trophy for their performances in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Andhadhun, respectively. Keerthy Suresh won the Best Actress award for her role in Telugu movie Mahanati. Aditya Dhar of Uri won the Best Director award.
Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured with this year's Dadasaheb Phalke Award. However, Bachchan tweeted today that he will not be able to attend the coveted award ceremony as he is down with fever.
