It is indeed is a moment of huge pride for Akki as the National Film Awards are the most prestigious awards in the country.

Getting a chance to wear the country's naval dress itself is a special feeling even if it is for a film role and now this National Award has made it special forever. I would like to dedicate this award to the blessing of my parents and my loving family, specially to my lovely wife, who always used to tease me saying 'It's good you don't go to award function anymore as you don't get anything'."

The Khiladi Kumar captioned the video as, "#NationalFilmAwards : Best Actor for Rustom, countless emotions, very hard to express my gratitude right now but still tried,a big THANK YOU".
