Bhuj: The Pride of India has roped in Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra for lead roles and now if it has been learnt that the actresses are not getting along well.
According to sources Parineeti Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha, the two leading ladies of the war drama started showing each other cold shoulder when the laters allegedly made claims that she is the female lead in the movie.
An insider revealed to Pinkvilla, "The cold war started when Parineeti learnt that Sonakshi has been telling everyone that she plays the female lead in the movie." This irked Parineeti to no end and she even complained to the production team.
Sonakshi will essay the character of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, a social worker who convinced the local women to help rebuild the only runway in Bhuj, that had been bombed by the Pakistani army during the war and Parineeti will be seen as Heena Rehman, an undercover Indian agent in Lahore.
"Parineeti feels that her and Sonakshi's role is equal and both have a meaty part to play. Hence it is unfair for Sonakshi to proclaim that she is the leading lady of the movie. This has created an issue between the two actresses, who refuse to speak to each other," another source informed the news web portal.
Earlier rumours were afloat that Parineeti has replaced Sonakshi Sinha for the endorsement of a brand after she lost weight and went through a full image transformation
Bhuj: The Pride Of India features Ajay Devgn as Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in charge of the Bhuj airbase in Gujarat during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Karnik, along with 50 Air Force and 60 defence security officers, played an instrumental role in keeping the airbase operational despite facing heavy bombing from Pakistan.
The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, and Ammy Virk in pivotal roles.
Written and directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, Bhuj: The Pride Of India is scheduled to release on August 14, 2020.
