Nushrat Bharucha, who is gearing up for his first Bollywood outing with Ayushmann Khuranna for Dream Girl after having quite a successful stint with comedy movies by Luv Ranjan, recently revealed that she was shortlisted for Slumdog Millionaire but lost the role to Frieda Pinto and the reason will amaze you
The actress revealed that when she had auditioned for Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire was appreciated for her acting chops but lost the role as the filmmakers reasoned that her good looks will not match her character, a girl dwelling from the slums.
The actress recently featured alongside Guru Randhawa for his music video titled Ishq Tera. Talking about the song, Nushrat had earlier told DNA, “I am super-excited about Ishq Tera with my talented friend Guru. It is a lovely song that beautifully captures the emotions of falling in love. I’ve been hooked to it since the time I heard it first and I can’t wait for its release.”
Nushrat Bharucha made her Bollywood debut in 2006 with Jai Santoshi Maa. She then featured in a science fiction drama Kal Kisne Dekha opposite Jackky Bhagnani and Love Sex Aur Dokha opposite Rajkummar Rao. After Dream Girl, Nusrat will be next seen in Siddharth Malhotra's Marjaavan in an item number and then is reuniting with his Love Sex Aur Dokha co-star Rajkummar Rao in Turram Khan.
