After creating a lot of buzz over its controversial storyline, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-anticipated magnum opus Padmaavat is doing wonders at the box office.

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, the movie has managed to mint Rs 27 crore on Saturday taking its total collection to a stupendous amount of Rs 83 crore.

Famous biz analyst Taran Adarsh along with Padmaavat's makers was also confident that the movie will comfortably cross Rs 100 crore marks on Sunday.

Earlier scheduled to release on December 1, 2017, Padmaavat has hit the screens on January 25 amidst much of the controversies all over India.

But it seems like the massive protests by Karni Sena have failed to dampen the spirits of this Bhansali directorial.

While in some states like Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana the debates have worked against the film, in the international market Padmaavat is performing really well.

In Australia and Ireland, the movie has already beat blockbusters like Baahubali, Dangal and others. On the other hand, the Deepika Padukone-starrer is the highest grossing Hindi film in North America till the time. Ranveer-Deepika's royal drama has managed to earn Rs 11 crore on January 27 in the country.

Apart from these, Padmaavat has also beat the box office collection of Akshay Kumar's Toilet-Ek Prem Katha and Varun Dhawan starrer Judwaa 2, which had made a business of Rs 30.2 crore and Rs 36.65 crore, respectively after two days of release.

With the release of Padmaavat across the country, critics and audiences are also going gaga over Bhansali's skills of high-class directions yet another time. Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid have also been inundated with heart felt messages from across Bollywood.

Padmaavat was a pure magic for B-town diva Alia Bhatt, while filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is amazed with the visual spectacle of Padmaavat. In short, the entire Bollywood is proud to have Bhansali in the industry and wishes him all the best.

Meanwhile, Padmaavat's performance in international market has also left Ranveer stunned.

After being informed about the same, an excited Ranveer said, "Oh wow, I did not know that," Bollywood Life reported.

"Well, now you mentioned it, I have to say it very important. If we make films in Hindi we will always face the language barrier. Films made in the West reach out to the whole world as English is spoken all over the world. For a film made out of Mumbai or anywhere in the country like Baahubali to go out in the international market and do well is a very positive sign. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films have always been a good draw in foreign markets. He makes these epic magnum opuses mounted on a huge unprecedented scale, which are a huge draw there. The producers have been quite bullish throughout. They have fought immense battles to get this film released, I am very happy for them," he added.

Based on the 16th-century Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s epic poem 'Padmavat', the movie has been mired in controversies since inception.
