Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat is creating ripples at the box office ever since it was released on January 25. The film which also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor opened with a massive response despite not releasing in few states.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial started the new year for Bollywood with a bang. The flick which has already become the highest grosser for Bhansali, Ranveer and Shahid collected Rs 4 crore on Sunday.
The period drama is running in its fourth week and has raked in Rs 276.50 crore despite facing competition from other latest releases. The film which has crossed the Rs 275 crore mark is now eyeing the coveted Rs 300 crore club.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the magical box office collection of Padmaavat on Twitter.

 Trade pundits expected Padmaavat to set the box office on fire and the movie didn’t disappoint them at all. Despite facing a backlash from the fringe groups, the epic drama managed to deliver a blockbuster performance at the box office.
Padmaavat raked in Rs 166.50 crore and Rs 69.50 crore in the first and second weeks respectively. The movie didn’t slow down in the third week and minted Rs 31.75 core.

All the three lead actors have received applauds for their stupendous performance in the film. The grand sets and the royal costumes along with the tight screenplay added to the success of Padmaavat.
The movie which was also released in Tamil and Telugu stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Anupriya Goenka and Raza Murad in important roles.

The flick which is based on the epic poem ‘Padmavat’ by poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi has also done reasonably well in the international markets. Considering the rate at which Padmaavat is going at the box office, we wouldn’t be surprised if manages to break more records.
