Padmaavat is creating ripples at the box office ever since it was released on Janaury 25. The epic drama which was embroiled into controversy has emerged as one of the biggest hits in recent times.
The Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer opened with a bang on its opening day. The royal drama earned rave reviews from critics and this has helped the film rake in big moolah at the box office.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial minted Rs 16 crore crore on Saturday to take its domestic box office collection to 192.50 crore. The flick has now set its eyes on the coveted Rs 200 crore club.

Padmaavat has emerged as a roaring success for the trio of Ranveer, Shahid and Sanjay. The whopping success of the film has already made it the highest grosser for the three of them.

Trade pundits have already started speculating that Padmaavat will turn out to Deepika’s most successful movie till date. The movie will achieve the feat once it overtakes Chennai Express’ lifetime collection in India.
Interestingly, Padmaavat is Deepika’s seventh movie to cross Rs 100 crore at the box office.

The movie faced a lot of protests from fringe groups during it release but still managed to do wonders at the box office. Right from the grand sets to the stupendous performances of the lead actors, Padmaavat proved to a be a winner.
