Ranveer Singh is on cloud nine these days as his recent release Padmaavat has taken over the box office with a storm. While the movie is minting crores, it is Ranveer Singh who is winning praises from the audience and critics.

In fact, the Befikre actor, who is overwhelmed with all the response, has received his first award as well for his commendable performance in Padmaavat as Allauddin Khilji.

Ranveer received a handwritten note of appreciation and flowers from megastar Amitabh Bachchan for showing his acting prowess in the magnum opus, which the actor has touted as his first award for Padmaavat.

He even shared a picture his this special award micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, "Mujhe mera award mil gaya @SrBachchan".

Talking about the same, Ranveer told Bollywood Life, “I got my first award this morning! Mr Bachchan sent me a letter! I find it difficult to express in words what that means to me. I have such a deep connect with Mr Bachchan and admiration. He’s sent me a few notes for some of my performances, every time I get a handwritten letter, I frame it and it doesn’t even stay in the house. It goes directly to my bank locker. That’s how much value I have for it. So my trophies are kept on display in the house and his letters, my most prized possessions are locked up in the bank account.”

Indeed it is a special moment for Ranveer Singh.

Earlier, Deepika Padukone, who essayed the role of Queen Padmavati in the period drama, also received a note of appreciation from Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat has got the cash registers ringing as it has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in its opening weekend itself.

The stupendous collections of Padmaavat have come as a major relief for the makers given that the movie has been mired with controversies since inception which included vandalization of sets and ban over its release as well.
