Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan which released on February 9 has started roaring at the box office on day two. The social drama has managed to earn rave reviews from both critics and fans and this is even reflecting at the box office.
The comedy-drama film which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte dealt with the old age taboo of menstruation. How often you do you see a film which tackles an issue like this in the best way possible?

The R Balki directorial started on a high note on its opening and raked in Rs 10.26 crore. The flick minted Rs 13.68 crore on Saturday taking its total collection to Rs 23.94 crore.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of the film on Twitter. He mentioned that the business should be strong on Sunday considering it’s a holiday.Â

PadMan is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Murugnantham who created low-cost sanitary pads for the rural women in India. Akshay played the character of Lakshmikant Chauhan who challenges the stigma around menstruation.

The makers of the film opted for an aggressive promotional strategy which worked in favour of PadMan. Various B-town celebrities shared their pictures with a sanitary pad in hand challenging the period stigma in our country.
The National Film Award winner’s magic has worked again and we wouldn’t be surprised if PadMan shatters all the records at the box office.
