Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has decided to drop his surname in reaction to the recent assaulting incident of ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali regarding 'Padmavati'.
Bhansali was assaulted by Rajput Karni Sena on 'Padmavati' sets in Jaigarh Fort, Rajasthan for allegedly distorting the history in his movie.
This has called for a rage amongst in B-town and while everyone is expressing their opinions on the incident SSR came up with the perfect reply.
Sushant took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to voice his opinion and remove Rajput from his name on the site.
Later in a series of tweets, he wrote "We would suffer till the time we're obsessed with our surnames.If you're that courageous, portray give us your first name to acknowledge."

Earlier, several other celebs including 'Padmavati' cast Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor have come out in support of SLB.
In fact, the entire cast of the period drama had also assured that 'Padmavati' is not tampering the facts.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' is a movie revolving around Rajput Queen Padmavati played by Deepika Padukone, her husband Raja Rawal Ratan played by Shahid Kapoor and antagonist Allauddin Khilji which is portrayed by Ranveer Singh.
'Padmavati' is slated to release on November 17 this year.
