As the controversy around Padmavati intensifies, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is getting support from the Bollywood fraternity. And the recent one to join the list is renowned filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who has sympathised with Bhansali and said that he understands the pressure SLB is undergoing and that his heart goes out to him.
Bhansali is in the line of fire by several Rajput groups and political leaders, who have accused the filmmaker of "distorting historical facts" in his film, slated to be released on December 1.
Mehta, who is not new to controversies when it comes to his films, said, "There is a lot of pressure and a lot of investment riding on you as a director. The director would want his film's release to be as smooth as possible."
"I feel sorry for him. My heart goes out to him. My heart also bleeds as I know all these superb torchbearers of culture are actually the most ignorant people on the earth," he added.
So far, Padmavati has been facing the brunt of several Rajput groups who have been protesting against the release of the movie which features Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in key roles.
