Padmavati row: Yogi govt writes to I&B ministry, urges to defer release

New Delhi :

Uttar Pradesh government has written to the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry requesting not to release the bollywood movie based on queen Padmavti citing law and order issues on its release.

The government in its letter mentioned its apprehensions the movie will make on the society and might disrupt the peace and communal harmony on the presumption of queen Padmavati's miss-representation in the period drama. 

The letter also says that the state home department has become aware of the film being sent to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for the procedures of certificate for release. 

According to intelligence inputs it is important to defer the release of the movie citing law and order disruptions at various places since the release of the trailer.
