A petition seeking a complete ban on the display of Indian cinema was filed in Pakistan on Tuesday. The plea was filed by local producers and distributors in the Lahore High Court.
The petitioners claimed that Indian movies in Pakistan were against the law as per Motion Pictures Ordinance 1979 and it was also promoting lawlessness and violence in the country.
The plea also stated that the exhibition of movies also tramples the import policy of 2013. The petitioners urged the authorities to disallow presentation of Indian entertainment material in national cinemas.
