Parineeti Chopra who recently raised her voice against government’s handling of the anti-CAA protest has reportedly been removed as the ambassador of Haryana’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign.

On December 17, the actress had tweeted, "If this is what's gonna happen every time a citizen expresses their view, forget #CAB, we should pass a bill and not call our country a democracy anymore! Beating up innocent human beings for speaking their mind? BARBARIC."

According to a report in indiatimes.com, Parineeti, who was the Haryana government's brand ambassador for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, has been removed from the position. However, there are no information confirming the news yet.

Parineeti is not the first actor who faced teh burnt of her opinions on social media. Actor Sushant Singh was removed from the reality TV crime series Savdhaan India, which he was hosting on the channel Star Bharat.

Meanwhile, Hindu Sanghatan founder on Friday filed a police complaint against Bollywood actor and film-maker Farhan Akhtar for allegedly distorting facts about the newly enacted Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) through his comments on Twitter.

This happened earlier this week, a day after Sushant participated in a recent anti-CAA protest rally in Mumbai. Sushant had tweeted, "And, my stint with Savdhaan India has ended."

A Twitter user asked him, "The price you pay for speaking the truth?" To this, Sushant replied, "A very small price my friend. Otherwise how will you face Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru?"

Meanwhile, the channel airing the show clarified that the channel on Wednesday said the host's politics had nothing to do with his exit.

Actor Siddharth of ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame was booked for participating in anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Chennai on Friday. According to latest reports, the actor was named in the FIR along with 600 other protesters. Apart from Siddharth, musician TM Krishna, MP Thirumavalavan and MH Jawahirullah were also booked for protests at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai. Siddharth has been very vocal about his opposition against the citizenship law.
