Veteran Bollywood actress Vidya Sinha has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai under critical health conditions. The yesteryears' Bollywood diva was diagnosed with cardiac and respiratory disorders. As per the reports, she was rushed to CritiCare hospital in Juhu and was put on a positive airway pressure (PAP) ventilator.
The 71-year-old actress is presently a part of television show Kullfi Kumar Bajewala enacting the role of grandmother to the protagonist. Prior to that, she had also acted in several other popular daily soaps including Qubool Hai and Kkavyanjali among others
Vidya Sinha is famous for her performances in movies such as Chhoti Si Baat, Rajni Gandha and Pati Patni Aur Woh.
According to Hindustan times report, "Her prolonged medical issues had aggravated, leading to breathlessness and she even developed heart and lung disorders, leading to more breathlessness. All that has been taken care of,” said a hospital official.
Vidya Sinha had made her Bollywood debut at the age of 27 with Basu Chatterjee's Filmfare Award-winning movie Rajni Gandha opposite Amol Palekar and Dinesh Thakur. She then went on to appear in about twenty other films including Mukti, Chhoti Si Baat and the 1978 cult classic Pati Patni Aur Woh, a modern-day remake of which is currently in the works.
She married her neighbour in 1968 and adopted a daughter but her husband died in 1996. She later married Netaji Bhimrao Salunkhe but had a troublesome relationship with him. She filed a complaint of domestic violence against him in January 2009. They were divorced soon afterwards.
