Pati Patni Aur Woh featuring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in lead roles is going strong at the box-office. The film which hit the screens on 6 December, 2019, has collected Rs 41.6 crore in just four days of its release.
Sharing the collections on Twitter, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "Pati Patni Aur Woh stays super-strong on Day 4 ... Will comfortably hit half-century in *Week 1*... Neck-to-neck with #LukaChuppi, better than #SKTKS... Fri 9.10 crore, Sat 12.33 crore, Sun 14.51 crore, Mon 5.70 crore. Total: Rs 41.64 crore. #India business.’’
The film opened at Rs 9.1 crore on Friday, and collected Rs 12.3 crore on Saturday and Rs 14.5 crore on Sunday. It was Kartik’s biggest opening, continuing the young actor’s streak of success after films such as Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety and Luka Chuppi.
In the film, Kartik Aaryan plays the role of Chuntu Tyagi, the 'adarshwadi' pati and government employee who is married to Bhumi Pednekar's character while Ananya is the 'Woh' in this crazy equation.
Pati Patni Aur Woh is an adaptation of the 1978 drama of the same name, which featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in the lead roles. It is being directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra. The film is slated to release on 6 December, 2019.
The film clashed with Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical drama, Panipat which didn’t fare too well at the box office. The lavish period drama could only manage Rs 17 crore in its opening weekend. The film featuring Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon was made against a reported Rs 100 crore budget.
