Anushka Sharma's second home production's venture 'Phillauri' has been declared a hit in the north as the film has made a collection of approx 19 crores.
The film had a slow opening on it's release date i.e. on 24 March but the business went up gradually on the weekend. The film had a business of 4.02 crores on Friday, Rs 5.20 crore and 6.03 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively, therefore made a total collection of Rs 15.25 cr during the weekend.
The film again slowed down in the opening of the week and therefore earned 2.02 cr on Monday and 1.95 cr on Tuesday.
However it has gained great expectations from the critics and has made a total collection of 19.22 cr. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh stated the figures of the collection of the film on his official Twitter account.

'Phillauri' is the second film made under the banner of Anushka Sharma's home production, alongside her brother, Karnesh Sharma who is also the producer for the film.
The film also stars Diljit Dosanjh, who was earlier seen in Udta Punjab, and marks the debut of actor Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi fame).

Phillauri shall face competition with 'Naam Shabana' starring Taapsee Pannu and Manoj Bajpayee, which releases coming weekend. The film is however expected to do a steady business over this week.
'Phillauri' is a story revolving around Suraj Sharma who is required to tie the knot with a tree before walking down the aisle with his wife-to-be, in order to wade off bad luck.

During the ritual, Suraj ends up getting married to the ghost of Shashi (Anushka Sharma) that resides on the tree.
What follows, is a series of hilarious episodes woven together with a love story which, indeed becomes a treat for you at the end. Anushka and Diljit have come together for the first time in order to deliver you this rustic, sweet, horrific but humourous tale of love.
