Vivek Oberoi starrer 'PM Narendra Modi' finally released on Friday (May 24). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic was stuck in a lot of controversies and its release was delayed by the Election Commission of India amid Lok Sabha elections. And now, the first-day collection of ‘PM Narendra Modi’ is out and the film has done a decent box office collection of more than Rs 2 crores.
The film managed to get a lukewarm start in the morning with a speedy pickup in the evening. The biopic's Friday collection totalled Rs 2.88 crore. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared the film's box office performance on Twitter. He said, "PMNarendraModi had a lukewarm start in the morning, but picked up speed as Day 1 progressed... Evening shows witnessed better occupancy... Fri Rs 2.88 cr. India biz."

Being the much-awaited film of the year after Narendra Modi's thumping victory in the Lok Sabha elections, the biopic opened to mixed reactions. The biopic depicts the journey of Narendra Modi m his humble beginnings to his years as a chief minister and finally his landmark election as the Prime Minister of the country.
Vivek Oberoi is depicting the role of Modi. It also stars Boman Irani, Zarina Wahab, Darshan Kumaar and Manoj Joshi. The film is directed by Omung Kumar.
In the meantime, Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor starrer 'India's Most Wanted' which stands as the film's rival, managed a low start on its first day with a box office collection of just Rs 2.10 crore.
