Los Angeles:

Prabhas' name became synonymous with period heroes after Baahubali smashed all box office records back in 2015. Then came Bahubali: The Conclusion and it almost became a belief that there's no actor better than Prabhas who can catapult period drama like Prabhas. 

Now, it has been reported that Prabhas has been offered the role of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming mythological film Ramayana.
However, reports also suggest that the actor is yet to give his nod for the project he is tired of big-budget films that take up about two years for completion.

 

An estimated budget of Rs 500 crore has been fixed for the live-action trilogy that will be shot in 3D. Apart from Prabhas, Hrithik Roshan's name has come up for the titular role of Rama and Deepika Padukone being approached for Sita.

Prabhas who is currently basking in the box office success of Saaho will team up with Mohenjo Daro actress Pooja Hedge for a comedy-drama.

Nitesh Tiwari is currently basking in the success of his recent release Chhichhore. Talking about the upcoming film, the director told an entertainment website, "After Chhichhore, I'm going to do Ramayana which got announced sometime back. We are conceptualising right now. It's a trilogy that we are planning and we are trying to see the best possible way to make it."

Nitesh will co-direct the movie with MOM director, Ravi Udyawar. The movie will be released in three parts. The film will be produced by Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra.
