Priya Prakash Varrier, who won the internet with her famous wink video is making a big comeback. However, unlike her wink video that won the millions of hearts, this time, Priya Prakash is embroiled in a mush of controversies. The actress, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the film, Sridevi Bungalow, directed by Prasanth Mambully is already caught in an abyss of a controversy as the movie is allegedly said to be an incongruous movie based on the late actress, Sridevi's life.
Questions arose when the teaser showed Priya in a bathtub, an incident reminiscent of the actress' death in a bathtub. This crude similarity has not gone unnoticed by people were immediately pointed out the similarities. After the incident, the filmmakers have also received a legal notice from Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor. Director Mambully confirmed the same to Cinestaan.com saying, "We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. I want to My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case)."

Filmmaker Mambully and actress Priya have, however, refused to accept or deny whether her film is based on the life of late super-star, Sridevi. This incident came about just a week after the husband of late actress Sri Devi said that he had no intentions to make a movie on the actress anytime soon. In an exclusive interview with The Quint, the veteran film producer clarified that there is no truth to these reports. “There is no such plan, I have just registered the title and copyrighted the name so that no one else misuses it,”.
Priya's father, Prakash, has also refused to comment on the legal notice, saying it was for the director and producers of the film to address.
