Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra recently tied the knot to be officially declared the man and the wife. Their marriage has been a beautiful amalgamation of two cultures, two religions, and moreover two countries. With a perfect blend of love and loads of excitement, Priyanka and Nick got married on Saturday in a Christian ceremony and later got hitched in a Hindu ceremony on Sunday at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. However, a recent article in New York Times’ The Cut (now deleted) has garnered a huge flak for its take on the Priyanka-Nick marriage.

Newlywed Priyanka has responded to this defaming article, giving it no importance at all. According to her, she did not want to react to such “random things”. In a report published by the Hindustan Times, she said, “I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kind of random things can’t disturb it.”

Although the Quantico star felt it was not important to react to such ‘random things’, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law to be, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, gave a fitting reply to the article.

Joe took to his Twitter handle to take a stand for Priyanka-Nick. He wrote, “This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words. What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next.”

The Games of Thrones star also tweeted her anguish over the article as she wrote, “This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls--t.”

The Cut article (now deleted) wrote poorly of their marriage. As reported in Hindustan Times, it called Priyanka a “global scam artist” whose PR machinery was looking out for a romance for her. It said that while Nick was only looking for “a fling” with Hollywood’s latest “It woman”, the American singer was looking straight at a “life sentence”.

“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist.”

Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja also raised her voice against the article. Calling the article sexist, racist and disgusting, the Neerja actor tweeted, “For a publication that “shows women’s what they are made of” @TheCut has a lot to answer for . The article on @priyankachopra was sexist , racist and disgusting. Also it’s written by a woman which is so sad. It reeks of envy and bitterness. @mRiah shame on you!”

The Cut, after taking down the said article, wrote a note that read : “Last night, the Cut published a post about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship that shouldn’t have gone up. We’ve received dozens of messages from readers expressing their anger. We want you to know that we hear you and we’re sorry. The whole piece missed the mark. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement. This was a mistake, and we apologize to our readers and to Priyanka and Nick.”
