Irrfan Khan and Parvathy starrer ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ which was released on last Friday on November 10 is doing a decent job at the box-office.
As per latest reports from Box Office India, the movie churned Rs. 1 crore on Monday, taking the total to Rs. 9.20 crore.
‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ is released along with Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Shaadi mein Zaroor Aana’ on around 1000 screens each.
Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi said, “The two films are made made at a low cost, and each of them have got roughly 1,000 screens. Qarib Qarib Singlle has fared better, but Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’s collection doubled up on Saturday. The latter has picked up in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, and it is largely catering to the audience’’.
He further added, ‘’The two news films, though, still lag behind Hollywood film Thor: Ragnarok which made some Rs10 crore in its second weekend business’’.
The story of ‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ revolves around two singles Yogi(Irrfan) and Jaya(Parvathy) who meet each other through a dating website. They fall in love during their journey to New Delhi, Jaipur and Gangtok.
