Vikram Vedha which was released on July 21, 2017 focused on the story of an earnest police officer and a notorious gangster. R. Madhavan portrayed the role of no-nonsense police officer Vikram while Vijay Sethupathi played gangster Vedha in the masala entertainer.
The neo-noir action thriller based on Vikram-Betaal folk stories received rave reviews from both critics and fans. Â The impeccable performance of the lead actors and the crispy storyline made the movie a super hit in Kollywood.
“Vikram Vedha is one of the best films to be made in recent times. This incredible collaboration is also a coming together of a dream creative team that would do true justice to a film like that’’, Shibasish Sarkar, COO Reliance Entertainment said in a press release.
Neeraj Pandey added, “Vikram Vedha is a unique film and this story has to be retold to the Hindi audience world over. We have all grown up on the Vikram Betaal mythology, but this out of the box contemporary treatment makes it a must-see movieâ€.
The makers of the film are yet to reveal the starcast of the upcoming film. We wonder who will fill in the shoes of Madhavan and Sethupathi in the Hindi remake.
