The trailer of Ali Bhatt starrer ‘Raazi’ is finally revealed on Tuesday. The spy action-thriller flick is based on a Kashmiri girl who becomes an Indian spy on the order of her father and marries a Pakistani officer.
In the two-and-half minute trailer, Alia clearly proves why she is undoubtedly one of the finest actress in the film industry today.
She is playing the role of a Kashmiri girl Sehmat who is on a mission and gets married to a Pakistani officer. Sehmat is a girl who is strong, well trained and knows her job very well.
Alia’s role and her acting skills clearly justifies the sub-title of the flick ‘The story of an ordinary in extraordinary circumstances’’.
Raazi is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’ which features Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. The flick is extensively shot in Punjab, Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on her role in ‘Raazi’, Alia Bhatt earlier said, “I think in Raazi, the audience will see me in a completely different avatar. At least that is my wish because Raazi as a film is very different. It’s the first time I am doing a period film and is based on the true story as well, so I am very excited for it and I hope the audience will like it’’.
Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, ‘Raazi’ is slated to hit the theatres on May 11.
