Ajay Devgn is called the ‘King of Box office’ for a reason. After a blockbuster performance in the form of Golmaal Again, the talented actor is back with Raid.

The Raj Kumar Gupta directorial opened with a good response and collected Rs 10.04 crore on the first day. Trade pundits were expecting a good performance from the action hero and Ajay didn’t disappoint them.

The period crime thriller witnessed a wonderful growth on its second day and minted Rs 13.86 crore, taking its total tally to Rs 23.90 crore. Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office collection of the film.

Raid received rave reviews from the critics for its gripping storyline and strong performance of the actors. The much-awaited film which was shot in Lucknow and Raebareli showcased one of the most high-profile income tax raids in India.

Fans simply loved Ajay Devgn in the role of a fearless Income Tax officer and it is already reflecting in the box office of the film. The flick which also stars Ileana D’Cruz, Saurabh Shukla and Saanand Verma released across 3,400 screens in India.

The masala entertainer, inspired by real life events, became the third biggest opener of Bollywood in 2018.  Interestingly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan are the top two films of the year, as per opening day collections.

Raid has surpassed all the expectations and we wouldn’t be surprised at all, if it manages to set the cash registers soaring. The strong mouth-of-the word publicity and the positive reviews will definitely help the film rake in big moolah.
