Akshay Kumar was not the first choice of 2.0 makers
Akshay Kumar is all set to enthral the audience when it hits theatres worldwide next week. However, did you know that Akshay, who plays the antagonist in the film, was not the initial choice for the part? Filmmaker S Shankar revealed that he had approached The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the antagonist, but the Hollywood star refused to do a negative role and the role finally went to the Khiladi of Bollywood.
The 2.0 makers boast about the movieâ€™s USP, that is, itâ€™s world-class visual effects. More than 15 VFX companies reportedly worked on the film, which finally has over 900 visual effects shots. Most expensive Bollywood movie
Touted to be one of the most expensive Indian films to date, 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in lead roles, reportedly has a budget of a whopping Rs 550 crore. The inflated budget is being used to complete the movieâ€™s high-end post-production work. Reports suggest that 2.0 director Shankar is notÂ willing to compromise on the post-production and VFX factors in the movie aiming to match up to international standards.

The credit of this page-flip visual transformation has the hands of non-other than Hollywood hit, Avatarâ€™s makeup artist, Sean Foot. Akshay Kumarâ€™s terrifying Crow Man look definitely looks like it required a lot of patient-sitting that zings the feet. During the trailer launch of 2.0, Akshay said, â€œI got to learn a lot of challenging things. Shankar is a scientist, not a director. I did make up for 3 hours and I took one hour to remove the makeup. I just saw myself on the screen, and it was unbelievable. Iâ€™m looking forward to seeing the film. I thank Shankar sir. 2.0 is originally shot in 3D
Rajinikanth starrer flick 2.0 has everything to do with the visual, CGI effects and the use of raw art Bollywood has invested in. Another never-seen experience about the movie is that 2.0 was originally shot in the 3D format rather than converting the 2D format into 3D on the editing table. "This film is not converted into a 3D film after shooting but originally shot in theÂ 3D format. Therefore, the whole experience was different for us. It will be a unique experience for the audience as well," Akshay told IANS.
The movie has recovered Rs 370 crore before its release
The mega film 2.0, which was made with a whopping budget of Rs 550 crore, has already Rs 370 crore out of 500 of the amount through the sale of the filmâ€™s satellite rights, digital rights as well as distribution rights. The sci-fi film, produced under the banner of Lyca Production, has already sold 2.0â€™s satellite rights for Rs 120 crore and the digital rights for Rs 60 crore in all versions, including Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu.
Aishwarya Rai will have a cameo role in the film
Aishwarya Rai will be seen sharing the screen space with South superstar Rajinikanth again! According to the latest report, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who was an integral part of the original film Enthiran (Robot) will have a cameo role in 2.0, which is a sequel to it. Reportedly, the director has revealed that Aish will have a cameo role in the film and is indeed a part of the script as her character Sana.Â
