Director of well-acclaimed movies like Sanju, PK, 3 Idiots, Rajkumar Hirani has just been nominated for Filmfare’s best director and best film categories for Sanju, netizens are however unhappy with the nomination. The netizen’s outburst has to do with the fact that the ace filmmaker was in 2018 embroiled in the #MeToo movement after Hirani was accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a female crew while working on the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanjay Dutt biopic 'Sanju’.
Shortly after the nominations were announced on Wednesday, netizens took to Twitter to share their disapproval over Filmfare nominating the Bollywood filmmaker in two categories stating that the director who is still under the microscopic view of the sexual allegations should not have been nominated.
Voicing their disapproval one user wrote, “So, Filmfare has nominated Rajkumar Hirani even when he has sexual harassment allegations against him and Mumbai Film Fest dropped Anurag Kashyap’s short film which had no connection with Phantom or Vikas Bahl.â€
