Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Dharma Productions; upcoming comedy, Dostana 2 will go on floors shortly but before the ‘Luka Chupi’ actor was roped in speculation was rife that Rajkummar Rao was going to be a part of the film
Rajkummar recently admitted that he was in talks with producer Karan Johar, but it did not pan out. Talking to Mumbai Mirror Rajkummar Rao revealed that he had to led Dostana 2 go off his hands as his dates collided with upcoming Netflix web series an adaptation of Man Booker prizer winner novel ‘White Tiger’ by Arvida Adiga.
Expressing how keen he was to work with Karan, Rajkummar Rao said, “He is one of the finest filmmakers in the country. Dostana is a great script and Colin D-Cunha , the director is my classmate from FTII”Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Dostana featured John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan as two straight men who pretend to be gay in order to share an apartment with 'Desi Girl' Priyanka Chopra. The film was a smash hit at the box office.

Apart from Kartik and Janhvi, the film will also feature a "suitable boy" who will be a newcomer. Collin D'Cunha, who has worked as an assistant director on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Sanju, will make his full-fledged directorial debut with Dostana 2.
After Made in china that opens at thaeters this Diwali, Rajkummar will start shooting for Hansal Mehta’s Turram Khan and then he is all set to reprise Dharmendra’s role for Luv Ranjan remake of cult 90’s comedy film Chupke-Chupke.
