Rakhi Sawant get anticipatory bail asked to surrender on August 7.

A court granted anticipatory bail to the Bollywood and Television actress Rakhi Sawant but ordered her to surrender before it on August 7 in a case related to "objectionable" remarks by her against sage Valmiki, the author of the epic Ramayana.

The complaint filed against actress said that the remarks that she made on a private channel, last year, hurt the sentiments of the Valmiki community. Last year, Sawant had claimed that Valmiki once was a murderer but later wrote the Ramayana.

Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh granted her anticipatory bail asked her to surrender before the court. The judicial magistrate's court had canceled the bail of the actress after she failed to appear before it on July 7.

While granting her bail on July 6, Judicial Magistrate Vishal Gupta had directed her to attend the hearing on July 7. Rakhi Sawant comment has created outrage among Valmiki community and she had tendered "an unconditional apology" to the community.

On the other hand, Rakhi stated that she didn't say anything to hurt anyone's sentiments and that she is being dragged into the controversy.

"I think people are forcefully dragging me under bad light to ruin my career. I did not say anything wrong to hurt anyone's sentiment. Even then, I made an apology video and uploaded it online. I am as fearless as the Rani of Jhansi and I will fight against all those people who are dragging me in controversy. I just gave an example of Valmiki Ji that I have been reading in books since childhood... I didn't want to hurt anybody's sentiments," Rakhi Sawant was quoted as saying.
