Director Ram Gopal Varma recently was slammed by netizens after he posted a rather 'insensitive' joke as a Fool's day prank on April 1 and got caught up in a controversy. Making humour of the grim health situation in the world the filmmaker through his Twitter handle said he tested positive for coronavirus. As his concerned fans panicked and asked him about his health the 'Satya' director that clarified it was a joke made up by his doctor and he is fine.
In the midst of the ongoing pandemic Coronavirus scare when the number of people affected by the deadly disease is rising by leaps and bounds and the death toll too is on rise, RGV's joke arrived as 'insensetive' and harsh on many. The actor sensing the situation in a few minutes apologised for the joke, that sent scare among many of his folowers. “Anyway I am just trying to make light of a grim situation but the joke is on me and if I dint offend anyone I sincerely apologise to them,” he wrote.

The 'original 'Bhoot' filmmaker also composed a song titled Kanipinchani Purugu Corona and shared on Twitter. “FULL SONG OF CORONAVIRUS inspired by #coronavirus. Music by @sandykeys111 , Creative Editing by @vfxrakesh , Lyriced and Edited by ME ..DON’T ENJOY,” he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier the Maharashtra goverment has warned pwople to not send jokes related to Coronaviris on the All Fools's Day as it migh lead to a situation panic.
