According to reports in Mumbai Mirror, Ranbir formally met Mahesh Bhatt to ask for Alia's hand. The reports also state that the big wedding might take place in 2020, after the return of Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor from New York.
Earlier, it was also being reported that that Alia met with designer Sabyasachi in April to start the preps on her wedding dress. However, Alia's uncle Mukesh Bhatt has rubbished the rumours. Talking to in.com, Mukesh Bhatt said, "This is utter rubbish. Who is spreading these rumours?"
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor love affair reportedly started while they were shooting for their forthcoming film Brahmastra. In an interview with Firstpost, Alia had revealed that she pleaded with director Ayan Mukerji to cast her opposite Ranbir in Brahmastra. I pleaded to Ayan that please cast me with him,'' she had said.
When asked about the experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia had replied, "With Ranbir, it is a completely different experience because I have always admired him. He is my favourite actor since he made his debut. He will always remain my favourite because he is so honest and effortless."
