Ranveer Singh has become one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood, post the stupendous success of his last release Padmaavat. The talented actor's stellar performance as Alauddin Khilji in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial won him millions of hearts.
The Lootera star, who is known to speak his mind, recently became the butt of jokes on Twitter after he made a confession on his growing up years. The Baajirao Mastani actor, while talking to Condé Nast Traveller said that his family didn’t have a lot of money while he was growing up and hence his parents would save up for a big family vacation in abroad.
''We didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up. So, my parents would save up and save up for that one big summer holiday abroad; I remember going to Indonesia, Singapore, Italy, but most often it was the US – we had a lot of family there. And December was always Goa with my grandparents’’, Ranveer told Condé Nast Traveller.
After the interview hit the internet, Twitterati couldn’t help but troll the tinsel town actor for his understanding of not having sufficient money. Several memes with the hashtag #YoRanveerSoPoor started trending on the micro-blogging site.

We didn’t have enough money while growing up so my parents would save up for that big summer holiday. I remember going to Lado Sarai, Mehrauli, Paschim Vihar, even Punjabi Bagh. But most often it was Hauz Khas- we had a lot of family there. #YoRanveerSoPoor
