Since the trailer of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy hit the internet, it left fans going gaga about the movie. If you have been hearing 'Asli Hip Hop' and 'Apna Time Aayega' from Gully Boy on repeat, then we have some great news for you. Makers of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy releases the film’s new song, 'Mere Gully Mein', on Tuesday.

2015 hit 'Mere Gully Mein', originally rapped by Divine and Naezy, has been recreated starring Ranveer Singh again! In the film version, Ranveer Singh’s Murad and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Sher are two rappers who replicate Naezy and Divine’s song and moves from the original video. Murad and Sher rap and beatbox through the rammed gullies of Dharavi slums giving a behind-the-scenes view of what went behind creating Divine and Naezy’s viral hit from 2015.

With rebellious lyrics and intense action, the song follows Ranveer Singh's journey as a rapper with a group of dancers following him and Siddhant Chaturvedi gripping the eyes in the frame.

Helmed by Zoya Akhtar and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Gully Boy is inspired from the lives of Mumbai street rappers Divine and Naezy.

In the film, Ranveer plays the role of Indian rapper Divine, who is known for songs like 'Meri Gully' and 'Roots'. Alia and Kalki Koechlin, play contrasting love interests. While Alia will be seen playing a lively young girl from a background similar to that of Ranveer Singh's character, Kalki will portray the success he aspires to.

Ranveer is currently riding high on the success of his last release, Simmba. The film has crossed over Rs 200 crore and has already broken many records. Likewise, Alia starred in the critical and commercial success, Raazi, in 2018. The two are all set to reunite with director Karan Johar’s ambitious Mughal era epic, Takht, which also stars Vicky Kaushal and Kareena Kapoor, among others.

The film directed by Zoya Akhtar releases on February 14.
