Remembering Sridevi: Songs of Bollywood’s Chandni which were REMIXED

She was Bollywood’s first ever female superstar who ruled millions of hearts with her impeccable performances. We are talking about none one other than Sridevi.

The Mr India actress left for her heavenly abode on Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her untimely demise has come as a shock to the Bollywood fraternity and fans.

The Nagina actress was known for her strong screen presence, amazing comedy timing and ehtreal dancing skills. It was simply a treat to see Sridevi dance on her songs.

The Bollywood diva who started her career as child artist also delivered Malayam, Tamil and Telugu films. She was one of the first actresses to demand Rs 1 crore for films during the 90s, a price very could demand at that time.

Throughout her illustrious career, Sridevi gave the industry some of the biggest hits, be it, Nagina, Sadma or Chandni. We will like to pay a small tribute to Bollywood’s Chandni and revisit some of her songs which were remixed.

1- Hawa Hawaii

Who can forget the iconic song from Sridevi-Anil Kapoor starrer Mr. India? The catchy song remains popular as ever and has inspired other film-makers to feature it in their movies. Movies like Tumhari Sulu and Shaitan have the used the remixed version of the song but they couldn’t achieve the level of popularity as the original.

2- Har Kisi Ko Nhi Milta

Fans still love the song- Har Kisi Ko Nhi Milta from the movie Janbaaz. The song pictured on Sridevi and Feroz Khan became an instant hit and was later remixed in Akshay Kumar starrer Boss. The new version saw Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha shaking their hips but the original one remained the favourite of fans.

3- Nainon Mein Sapna

The song Nainon Mein Sapna created a rage when it was released. Fan simply loved the chemistry between Sridevi and Jeetendra who went to become of the most sough after on-screen couples in Bollywood. Ajay Devgn and Tammana Bhatia tried to recreate the version in the remake of Himmatwala.

4- Na Jaane Kahan Se Ayi Hai

The best part about Sridevi was that she could fit in as per the demand of the song. The song “Na Jaane Kahan Se Ayi Hai’ from Chaalbaaz is one of Sridevi’s most iconic songs of her career. The song was later used for the film I Me Aur Main featuring John Abraham, Prachi Desai and Chitrangda Singh. The new gender-bender version couldn’t create much interest though.

5- Chandni O Meri Chandni

Chandni is considered one of the most memorable movies of Sridevi’s career. The romantic drama starring Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor was known for its melodious tracks. The song Chandni O Meri Chandni became quite popular when the film was released I 1989. The song was later recreated for the flick Char Din Ki Chandni.
