Shock and misery hit the entire nation after Bollywood actress Sridevi breathed her last in the wee hours of Sunday. Following her sudden demise, the grieving film fraternity has cancelled a few upcoming events and shooting schedules in the industry.

Shabana Azmi and husband Javed Akhtar called off their annual Holi party in the wake of sudden demise of Sridevi, the first female superstar of Indian cinema.

From Deepika Padukone to Anupam Kher, several Bollywood biggies visited Sridevi's brother-in-law Anil Kapoor's house after the news broke.

Javed Akhtar's ex-wife Honey Irani along with son Farhan Akhtar also reached Anil Kapoor's residence this morning.

On Sunday, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma cancelled the announcement of the title and poster of his forthcoming film. RGV, who always managed to be in the headlines for his controversial remarks, directed Sridevi in the Telugu films like Kshana Kshanam and Govinda Govinda.

Post that, director Umesh Shukla cancelled the filming of a song for his next directorial venture 102 Not Out. The movie features two of Sridevi's former co-stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. The song, written by Mr Bachchan and titled Baadduummbaa was scheduled to begin filming on Sunday.

"As a mark of respect to the sudden and untimely demise of our legendary actress Sridevi, we decided to cancel our today's song shoot of 102 Not Out. May God give peace to her soul and strength to her family," Umesh Shukla told IANS.

Earlier, there were reports that the actress died after suffering a cardiac arrest, but as per forensic report, released on Monday, Sridevi lost his balance under the influence of alcohol and drowned after falling into the bathtub. She was 54 and attending actress Sonam Kapoor's cousin Mohit Marwah's wedding in Dubai.

Though husband Boney Kapoor had flown back to India along with younger daughter Khushi after the festivities, Sridevi chose to stay in Dubai. Meanwhile, on February 24, producer Boney Kapoor flew back to Dubai to give Sridevi a surprise dinner, which turned into a tragedy.

However, Sridevi's mortal remains will reach Mumbai at around 5 AM on Tuesday. The funeral is expected to take place on Tuesday. South superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will attend the last rites of the actress. According to reports, Haasan has already reached Sridevi's brother-in-law Anil Kapoor's residence in Mumbai.

On the work front, Sridevi will be seen posthumously in Shah Rukh Khan's Zero later this year. Also starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles, the Anand L Rai directorial is scheduled to hit screens on December 21.
