When veteran actor Rishi Kapoor made a social media announcement on September 29 about his health, fans were both perplexed and scared in equal measures.
The actor had written, "Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus” of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!"

Recently, Hindustan Times got in touch with Rishi's daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to know more about the actor's health. As quoted by the daily, Riddhima said, "He’s fine, nothing to worry about. I was never worried anyway. He’s just getting his routine tests done, like he said on Twitter, after so many years of wear and tear. He’s getting everything done, so hoping for the best.”
In October, the senior actor shared a video on Twitter while hanging out with Anupam Kher. The Mulk actor had tweeted, “New York,Manhattan. “Kher-free” or is it “Care-free”on Madison Avenue with colleague and old friend Anupam Kher this afternoon!” The actor was seen with grey hair in his pictures with actor Sonali Bendre and Priyanka Chopra, which alarmed his fans on social media that it got something to do with his health.

Taking to Twitter, Kapoor denied that his hair turned grey ‘overnight’ and clarified that he dyed them for his look in the film.“This is to dispel all notions and wrong speculations of my hair turning grey/white overnight. My hair was dyed by Awan Contractor for a film produced by Honey Trehan and Sony pictures directed by Hitesh Bhatia. Film is untitled. Trust this clears the air,” he wrote.
