Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ enters a 100 crore club. This is Akshay's sixth film that has entered the Rs. 100 crore club, and with this, he is at par with Shah Rukh Khan’s record of delivering six films that have raked over Rs 100 crore.
The film has entered the second week of its release, despite that it is showing no sign of slowing down. Earlier, his movie Airlift collected Rs 100 crore in mere 10 days and ‘Rustom’ is now Akshay’s fastest film to get in the Rs 100 crore club.
As per trade estimates, the movie earned Rs 6 crore on Saturday itself. Now, the total earning of the film so far is Rs. 101.31 crore. Experts believe that its box office collection may increase further before this weekend.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted earlier, “#Rustom continued to dominate the marketplace, despite a plethora of fresh releases… [Week 2] Fri 4.41 cr. Total: â‚¹ 95.31 cr. India biz.”(sic)
Besides, Akshay’s Airllift and Housefull 3 were other big hits this year to enter Rs 100 crore club. Also, his biggest hit so far is Rowdy Rathore with Rs 134 crore in box office collection.
‘Rustom’ is doing well internationally also. Taran tweeted “#Rustom fares VERY WELL Overseas… Week 1: $ 3.77 million [â‚¹ 25.31 cr].” (sic)
This brings the movie’s worldwide earning to Rs 125.6 crore. The courtroom drama also features Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta.
