Prabhas highly ambitious project Saaho is no more releasing with Mission Mangal and Batla house. the makers have conveniently averted the clash citing reasons on an official statement that they do not want to compromise on the quality of the film.
The action thriller, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, will now hit the screens on August 30.
“We want to bring the best to the audience. For bringing finesse to the action sequences, we need some more time. Although we are shifting the date from Independence Day but we want to stick to the month of Independence and patriotism with Saaho. We are dedicated to bringing the biggest movie on the largest scale,” a spokesperson for the producers said.
The festival weekend is a coveted slot by big stars but big films also don't like to clash at the box office as it divides the profits. "It is not releasing on August 15 as scheduled. The release date of 'Saaho' will be pushed ahead because some work is still left on the film and the VFX is taking a longer time. The film is likely to release either on August 30 or September 6 but no date has been finalised yet," a source close to the production said.
Saaho is an action thriller, written and directed by Sujeeth and produced by UV Creations and T-Series. It marks Shraddha Kapoor's debut in South Indian cinema and Prabhas' first release after "Baahubali2: The Conclusion" in 2017.
The film has been shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Also starring Jackie Shroff, Mandira Bedi and Chunky Pandey in supporting roles, Saaho, a spy thriller produced on a lavish budget of nearly Rs 250 to Rs 300 crore will release in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
Earlier Ayan Mukherji delayed the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra that was supposed to clash with Dabangg 3 this Christmas citing similar reasons of better VFX and quality visuals. The movie will now release in the summers of 2020.
